INTRODUCTION

BRONXCAPADES PERFORMANCE VIDEOS: Performance videos (PV) basically “tell” individual stories from my memoir, Bronxcapades, by means of a speaker directly addressing the audience from behind a microphone.

BRONXCAPADES SHORT FILM: Short films (SF), on the other hand, are intended to “show” or dramatize. This involves actors and actresses playing the roles of Bronxcapades characters. Get out the popcorn, but do not expect the Academy Award material. FS-1, Dry Ice is a rudimentary pilot with student actors whose ethnicity does not match those of Bronxcapades’ characters. The film is meant as video storyboards to explore how well the book will translate to the large screen.

PV-1. LARRY IS EVIL - WGBH VERSION

I am the third storyteller, and you might want to speed forward to minute 17:00, the start point of my pre-performance interview. The specific name of this story is "Larry is Evil."

PV-2. LARRY IS EVIL - BRONXCAPADES PROMOTIONAL VERSION

Italian-American Version: The same story presentation but packaged/edited differently to create a promotional piece to help market my memoir, "Bronxcapades" from which "Larry is Evil" is taken. Besides an Italian-American tone more consistent with the book, it also offers the WGBH host's introductory remarks about my scientific and Mars mission background that are supplemented with brief NASA-JPL video clips.

PV-3. EUREKA MOMENT

Another WGBH performance. However, this remains an unedited, raw version. It remains to be edited for completeness. The story is about the MAR's mission and the Soujourner vehicle. Although it is autobiographical, it is not included in either of my memoirs and therefore has no promotional purpose.

PV-4. THIS IS TRUE!

The story about my first job at the Bronx Zoo. It is in neither of my memoirs and is presented for pure entertainment.

FS-2. FRYING PAN

Two roommates have a meltdown when the third refuses to clean up after using the pan. Based upon Chapter 15, "Frying Pan" of "State Penn," the sequel to Bronxcapades.

FS-3. CAKEASAURUS REX

A lady just wants to bake a coffee cake. What can be simpler.

FS-4. EARTHQUAKE!

An 120 minute feature film about a visit by two older, fearful New Yorkers on their first visit to their son in California.

FS-5. MARLEY'S PREDICTION

Marley, the little puppy dog, is trying so desperately to warn everyone, but no one pays any attention. A 45 minute "long short."
